Simply walking out of the marina the town square is full of life, always with children playing and if you’re lucky you’ll happen upon music, a holiday traditional event where there’s dancing or a fiesta… a grand party as only Mexicans can do. As we pass the slow season and slip into the ‘happening’ season; please check websites and Facebook pages and make reservations if you can.

Spontaneity does have its perks so wander and explore too; who knows what you’ll find… starting with the beautiful murals adorning the buildings of La Cruz.

Around the plaza there’s much going on; you’ll likely smell Katia’s coffee at Café Shulel or at her sister restaurant La Ballena Blanca the shrimp or fish burritos wrapped in blue corn tortillas are to LIVE for! Across the plaza, the La Cruz Inn where comfort food is their specialty and their main concern is pleasing their clientele who rave about their Baja fish or shrimp tacos, the decadent ribs, tasty meatloaf or visit them for breakfast and enjoy hash skillet or eggs benny where the mimosas and Caesar’s are flowing! Friday nights dancing horses delight for all enjoying the plaza. Be sure to make a reservation at The Black Forest. Using a selection of fresh seafood from the La Cruz fish market Yin Yang Sushi prepares delicious sushi rolls, nigiri, sashimi and other dishes, fusing Japanese techniques with Mexican flavours. Owner and chef Jonatan Rodriguez offers a very personalized service creating dishes aesthetically pleasing and delicious to the palate at a very affordable price. Often, to complement the sushi experience, they offer live music.
